Origin: Native to Africa - Democratic Republic of the Congo
Sunlight: Ideally, I like filtered indirect light positions but can cope with a balance of this and I can also tolerate low light conditions for short periods.
Temperature: I am more than happy at room temperature, ideally 15-23°C and can also be in temperatures as low as 10°C, but only for a short period of time.
Growth: Very slow growing, although it’s know to find some varieties at over a metre tall.
To encourage growth, repot me every year or two into a slightly larger pot.
Toxicity: Mildly toxic if consumed, so best to keep out reach of children and pets.
Watering: I don’t need much watering at all, so allow my soil to dry out during winter and water me roughly every four weeks. During the summer months, please water me more regularly. I would much prefer a longer dry spell than being overwatered as this will cause root rot.
Feed: Being a very low maintenance plant, I don’t necessarily need fertilizer, however I would benefit from a dose of diluted general houseplant feed during summer months.
