Origin: Central Africa
Sunlight: Good growth will come from being placed in areas with bright indirect light, too much harsh sunlight will cause my shoots to scorch.
Temperature: Normal room temperatures are ideal for me between 16-24°C avoid any lower than 12°C
Growth: In my natural environment I can grow to an impressive 8ft tall however indoors I will grow much slower and won’t reach these heights, you will start to notice various new shoots early on if cared for correctly, I can even be potted into a rich well drained soil if preferred.
Toxicity: Keep me out of reach, mildly toxic if ingested.
Watering: Be sure to always keep my stems moist or submerged at all times, changing my water every couple of weeks.
I will thrive even more if you can place me in a mineral water rather than straight from the tap, even rain water will be perfect for me.
Feed: No need to feed me if I’m growing in water.
If you later decide to pot me into soil, I will benefit from a dose of a normal house plant fertilizer during the spring and summer months.
